Human Resources Manager

Location: Aquinas College, Nangreave Road, Stockport, Cheshire SK2 6TH.

Salary: £45,267 – £52,275 (experience dependent). Hours: 37 hours, Full‑Time, Full Year.

Overview

We are seeking an experienced professional to manage day‑to‑day HR operations and lead our HR team. The role is crucial for ensuring smooth transactional workflows, maintaining staff systems, and supporting the Director of Personnel in strategic matters.

Responsibilities

  • Take full operational ownership of HR processes.
  • Manage the personnel team and transactional workflows.
  • Handle general employee relations casework.
  • Lead administrative workflows and maintain staff systems.
  • Ensure compliance with safer recruitment policies and promote best practice.
  • Maintain the Single Central Record (SCR) in line with Keeping Children Safe in Education (KCSIE) frameworks.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Proven experience as an HR manager or in a similar senior HR role.
  • Strong knowledge of UK employment legislation and HR best practice.
  • Excellent organisational and communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage a team and work closely with senior leadership.
