Your Role

Adoption Counts is a Regional Adoption Agency serving five Local Authorities: Manchester, Trafford, Stockport, Cheshire East, and Salford. We seek a dynamic, skilled, and experienced Operations Manager with extensive knowledge of Adoption to strategically lead recruitment, assessment of adopters, and Family Finding for children in our care.

About You

  • We are looking for a creative and engaging leader who embodies Adoption Counts' core values of trust, empathy, learning, connection, and child-centeredness.
  • Knowledge of statutory regulations and national standards regarding Adoption, with significant experience in recruiting and assessing adopters, early permanence, and adoption panels.
  • Understanding of the impact of early trauma on child development and service delivery.
  • Experience with ASGLB data reporting and analysis.
  • Ability to maintain standards through quality assurance and use data to measure demand and monitor outcomes.
  • Experience managing budgets, prioritizing services, and collaborating with key partners to develop high-quality services.
  • Leadership and management skills in high-demand areas.
  • Experience in safeguarding, early help, and Looked After Children (LAC) services, encompassing the entire child journey to adoption.
  • A supportive yet challenging management style aligned with our core values.

About Us

Adoption Counts is a regional agency delivering adoption services across Cheshire East, Manchester, Salford, Stockport, and Trafford. Established in 2017, we are a national leader in adoption development, working closely with Adoption England. Our hub-and-spoke model has hub functions in Wythenshawe, with geographical spokes in Salford, Cheshire East, and Wythenshawe itself, covering a large area to ensure comprehensive service delivery. We focus on the child's journey, from targeted recruitment of suitable adopters to matching children with families and providing specialized support. We aim to deliver excellent services supported by strong management and continuous improvement.
