Your Role

We are looking to appoint a Midday Kitchen Assistant post to work at High Lane Primary. This is a very exciting time for our Trust as we grow.

Main purpose of the job

To be responsible to the Headteacher, or the Class Teacher under the overall authority of the Headteacher, for the supervision of pupils and the serving of meals during the lunch break.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with the basic preparation of food under the guidance of the Kitchen lead.
  • Serve meals to pupils efficiently, ensuring portion control and dietary requirements are respected.
  • Collect crockery and cutlery at the end of service.
  • Assist with the daily preparation of the dining room and counter.
  • Undertake cleaning duties in the kitchen and dining room, to include the washing of crockery and cutlery.
  • Maintain a high standard of cleanliness in the kitchen and dining hall.
  • Support with the supervision of children at lunchtime whilst eating in the dining hall and encourage young children to eat their food and assist pupils with the development of good table manners.
  • Comply with food handling and hygiene standards.
  • Comply with Health and Safety regulations.

About You

This post requires Level 1 Food Safety and Hygiene certificate. This and all relevant training will be given and opportunities for further CPD is a priority within our trust.
