The Headteacher, Governors and children at Thorn Grove Primary School wish to appoint a caring and passionate EYFS Teaching Assistant to join our successful, friendly and inclusive school. We are an excellent school committed to the highest quality education and professional development where we nurture our whole school community to be curious, respectful, aspirational individuals.
The successful candidate will need to be able to:
- Form positive relationships with pupils, parents and staff
- Provide quality interactions with children and promote purposeful play
- Work effectively as part of a team but be able to use their own initiative to improve outcomes for all pupils
- Support children with Special Educational Needs
- Demonstrate that they have high expectations for behaviour whilst promoting fair and inclusive practises
- Show a commitment to their professional development
The post will involve:
- Supporting in the delivery of high quality teaching and learning activities
- Teaching small groups in class where necessary
- Assisting the teacher in the management and preparation of resources
- Adapting planning to meet the needs of the pupils
- Supporting in the recording and collation of evidence for assessment purposes
Applicants should possess a high standard of spoken and written English and have GCSE English and Maths (A-C grades or equivalent). Previous experience of working in the Foundation Stage and having a sound knowledge of phonics, the Foundation Stage Profile and curriculum is highly desirable.
