Job Title: Cleaner
Salary: Scale 1 point 3 £2,930.33 pro rata actual salary
Hours: 5 hours per week – 1 hour per day (Term Time plus 5 days)
Working Pattern: Monday to Friday after school
Contract type: Fixed term until June 2027
We are looking for enthusiastic, self-motivated and reliable cleaners who take pride in their work. You will need to be a good team worker with good organisational skills. Previous experience is desirable but not essential.
Responsibilities
- To ensure the school building is thoroughly cleaned and sanitised each day for the children and staff, paying particular attention to touch points such as desks, door handles, taps, etc.
- To undertake cleaning tasks including washing of walls, furniture and fittings; sweeping, hoovering, floor buffing; toilet cleaning; emptying and cleaning of waste receptacles and fixtures and fittings.
- To carry out all cleaning tasks to the required standards.
- To use all equipment, machinery and cleaning materials effectively, efficiently and in accordance with safe working practices.
- To report any faults with equipment, machinery or the building to the caretaker, describing the nature of the faults.
- To participate in any required staff training programmes and to carry out duties in accordance with the School’s Health and Safety Policy.
- To maintain good working relationships with staff, handle minor queries or complaints, and relay significant staff issues to the caretaker for further action.
- To undertake any other duties related to the work of the section appropriate to the post, as may be required.
