Reliability, performance and pragmatic decision-making are critical. The company has a capable team of engineers and is now looking to introduce technical leadership and architectural direction as the platform and customer base scales.
The Role
This is a hands-on technical leadership position, not a pure management role. The position sits between the CTO’s technical vision and day-to-day engineering delivery.
Responsibilities
- Define and evolve system architecture
- Provide technical direction to a team of 5 engineers
- Mentor and support engineers’ technical growth
- Review designs, code and technical decisions
- Improve development processes and delivery structure
- Work with stakeholders on realistic technical planning

- Enjoys mentoring engineers
- Remains hands‑on technically
- Takes ownership of technical decisions
- Is pragmatic and delivery‑focused
- Is comfortable in a startup/scale‑up environment
- Prefers building and shaping rather than maintaining enterprise systems
What’s On Offer
- Salary up to £80,000
