You’ll act as a technical authority within the electronics team, leading the design and delivery of robust hardware solutions while supporting wider R&D objectives. The role combines deep technical ownership with mentoring, design governance, and close collaboration across disciplines.
Key Responsibilities
- Translate product requirements into robust electronic hardware designs
- Own system architecture, schematics, component selection, and PCB design oversight
- Lead prototype builds, board bring-up, debugging, and validation activities
- Ensure designs meet performance, safety, reliability, and environmental requirements
- Apply DFM/DFA principles and support manufacturing and early production builds
- Manage component availability, alternates, and obsolescence risks
- Lead design reviews, technical decision-making, and issue resolution
- Maintain controlled documentation, BOMs, and compliance records
- Support R&D delivery by managing priorities and removing technical blockers
- Coach and support engineers, contributing to a high-performing technical team
Required Experience
- Degree in Electrical / Electronic Engineering (or equivalent experience)
- Proven experience delivering electronics designs from concept to production
- Strong knowledge of analogue, digital, and power electronics
- Experience using simulation tools (e.g. LTspice, Proteus, Simulink)
- Understanding of embedded electronics and C/C++
- Strong problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills
- Instrumentation or monitoring systems
- Reflectometry-based or signal-analysis technologies
- Communications theory or related disciplines
