Stockbridge Technology Centre Ltd (STC) is a leading independent provider of applied research and development services to the UK horticulture and arable sectors. We work closely with commercial clients to support product evaluation, development, and innovation across protected and field-grown crops.
We are seeking an experienced Agronomy Team Leader to manage and deliver a diverse portfolio of commercial trials while leading a small team of Study Directors and Project Managers.
The Role
This is a hands-on leadership role combining project delivery, client management, and team leadership. You will ensure trials are delivered efficiently, on time, and to the high technical standards expected by our clients.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and deliver commercial R&D projects across protected and outdoor horticultural crops
- Act as the primary point of contact for clients, building strong commercial relationships
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of Study Directors/Project Managers
- Oversee project budgets, timelines, and technical quality
- Review, interpret, and present trial data and reports to clients
- Identify opportunities for new services and business growth
About You
- Degree-qualified in Horticulture or equivalent professional experience
- Proven experience delivering applied research or commercial trials
- Strong people management and project leadership skills
- Commercially aware with the ability to identify client needs and opportunities
- Excellent communication, analytical, and report‑writing skills
