As a Transport Planner, you will play a central role in creating effective transport plans for our customers within the wider Stobart network, while ensuring compliance with legal responsibilities.
Shift: Sunday to Thursday nights, 20:00-06:00
Salary: Up to £33,000 per annum (DOE)
Key Duties of a Transport Planner:
- Manage and plan drivers effectively through ongoing communication and using our advanced transport software.
- Control and plan resources (vehicles, drivers, trailers), ensuring adherence to legal requirements such as the Working Time Directive and EU drivers’ hours regulations.
- Complete daily plans in real-time, managing resources efficiently to maximize utilization and minimize costs.
- Keep internal tracking systems organized and up-to-date to high standards.
- Utilize in-house planning tools to manage workload and monitor efficiency.
- Achieve key performance targets related to fleet safety and efficiency, including utilization and costing.
- Communicate regularly with customer service teams and drivers to meet and maintain KPI targets.
Qualifications:
- Previous transport planning experience with good geographical knowledge.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Good communication skills for delivering accurate information.
- Ability to prioritize workload to meet deadlines.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- CPC qualification is desirable but not essential.
- Proactive decision-making skills.
