Job Description
As Transport Planner you will contribute to the success of the transport team, you will be responsible for completing and overseeing the day-to-day planning function of the transport operation. A highly motivated and driven individual, you will be experienced at working in a quick and fast-paced environment and be able to deal with day to day challenges in providing an effective transport plan. Working on a shift pattern of Monday to Friday nights.
Key Duties of a Night Transport Planner:
- Work with Transport and Warehouse teams, to create an efficient transport plan using the latest TMS
- Subcontracting and planning orders from multiple sites across the UK
- Planning daily workload of fleet: vehicles based on site and out bases
- Reporting problems and dealing with issues and any queries that may arise
- Planning collections per day on a time critical basis
- Maintaining and exceeding agreed KPIs
- Proactively look for continuous improvements
- Be able to make decisions under pressure and to a tight timescale
- Have a flexible and adaptable approach to working in order to meet the requirements of the business particularly at peak periods during the year
- Efficiently utilise the Culina Group network in support Stobarts when volumes dictate.
Qualifications
- Previous Transport Planning experience
- Good geographical knowledge of the UK
- Proficient in computer literacy including Microsoft Excel, Powerpoint, Word and Outlook
- CPC Desirable but not required
- Experience of planning 100+ tractor units across multiple depots
- Excellent communication skills and ability to succeed in a pressurised environment
- Customer focus on delivery performance
- Commercially and Financially astute and driven to deliver exceptional results.
- Experience of using a TMS system
- Experience in an FMCG environment
- Strong analytical and excel capability across standard formulas
