Job Description: We are recruiting permanent HGV Class 1 drivers to join us working from Tesco Dirft Central Distribution Centre in Daventry on our General Haulage operation, completing store and RDC deliveries across the region. This role is ideal for a HGV driver who takes pride in safe driving, excellent customer service, and dependable delivery standards. The roles are full time, working on a permanent basis with a variety of shift patterns including days (between 04:00 - 07:00 starts) and nights (between 16:00 - 19:00 starts) available, working any 5 days from 7.
Pay Rates:
- Mon-Fri Days - £15.15 per hour
- Mon-Fri Night Shift - £16.35 per hour
- Saturday and Sunday Day Shift - £18.15 per hour
- Saturday and Sunday Night Shift - £18.65 per hour
- Bank Holidays - £18.96 per hour
On top of base salary, our HGV Drivers will be entitled to a £5 per shift tax-free meal allowance and a £25 per night out tax-free allowance (if applicable).
Driver Responsibilities:
- General Haulage with Curtainside trailers, to Distribution Centres and Stores
- Collections from Stores to load out to Factories and Distribution Centres
- Supporting General work, including occasional store deliveries and requirement to load and unload cages
- Completing all necessary vehicle checks and documentation
- Maintaining high levels of safety, compliance, and professionalism
- Working closely with the transport team to ensure smooth operations
- Adhere to Driver's hours, WTD, and tachograph legislation
Qualifications:
- You should hold a valid C+E Licence and ideally have a minimum of 6 months HGV Class 1 driving experience (We will consider New Pass Drivers)
- No more than 6 points and no DD/DR Code convictions
