Job Description
Stobarts are recruiting permanent HGV Class 1 drivers to join us at our depot in Doncaster supporting Asda, one of the UK's largest supermarket retailers. This role is primarily trunking to and from Distribution Centres, however, there will be a requirement to support General Haulage activities as and when needed, including Warehouse and Store deliveries, and supporting the wider Stobarts network.
The roles are full time, working on a permanent basis, with ideal shift patterns available on Nights:
- Sunday to Thursday Nights
- Tuesday to Saturday Nights
- Wednesday to Sunday Nights
Shifts typically start between 18:00 - 23:00. We offer flexibility in shift patterns, so if these start dates and times don't quite suit your availability, let us know what you're looking for, and we'll do our best to accommodate your preferences.
Pay Rates:
We have increased our pay rates, with rates now ranging from £16.35 to £18.96 per hour on Nights, depending on shift.
- Mon-Fri Nights - £16.35 per hour
- Saturday and Sunday Nights - £18.65 per hour
- Bank Holidays - £18.96 per hour
On top of base salary, our HGV Drivers will be entitled to a £5 per shift tax-free meal allowance, and a £25 per night out tax-free allowance.
Driver Responsibilities:
- Trunking runs between distribution centres from Doncaster depot
- Supporting General work, including occasional store deliveries and general work supporting the network
- Completing all necessary vehicle checks and documentation
- Maintaining high levels of safety, compliance, and professionalism
- Working closely with the transport team to ensure smooth operations
Qualifications
- You should hold a valid HGV 1/C+E Licence, DCPC & Tacho Card.
- Minimum of 12 months Class 1 driving experience
- No more than 6 points on your Licence with no DD/DR Code convictions
- Understand and able to comply with Drivers hours and WTD legislation
- Able to understand and carry out necessary vehicle checks to ensure vehicle safety and able to report defects correctly
- Should comply with on-site health and safety requirements
- Excellent communication skills
