HGV Class 1 Shunter

Nights Workington (Iggesund Paper Mill, CA14 1JX) £35,294 per annum Permanent | Full Time | 4 on 4 off | 18:00 - 06:00

Stobart, part of the Culina Group, is looking for a Class 1 Shunter to join our operation at Iggesund Paper Mill in Workington. This is a site-based role, responsible for the safe movement of trailers and vehicles around the yard, ensuring efficient operations and maintaining high safety standards.

What you'll be doing:

  • Shunting trailers between loading bays and designated yard areas.
  • Positioning trailers for loading and unloading.
  • Carrying out vehicle checks and reporting defects.
  • Following all site safety procedures and regulations.
  • Working closely with the transport team to support daily operations.

Qualifications:

  • You should hold a valid C+E Licence and ideally have a minimum of 6 months HGV Class 1 driving experience.
  • Previous Experience in a HGV Shunting role is advantageous.
  • No more than 6 points and no DD/DR Code convictions.
  • Hold a current valid DCPC & Tacho cards.
  • Understand and able to comply with Drivers hours and WTD legislation.
  • Able to understand and carry out necessary vehicle checks to ensure vehicle safety and able to report defects correctly.
  • Should comply with on-site health and safety requirements.
  • Excellent communication skills.
