Job Description: We are recruiting permanent HGV Class 1 drivers to join us at our depot in Carlisle to support our General Haulage operation, completing store and RDC deliveries across the region. This role is ideal for a HGV driver who takes pride in safe driving, excellent customer service, and dependable delivery standards. The roles are full time, working on a permanent basis, with ideal shift patterns available on Nights:
- Sunday to Thursday
- Tuesday to Saturday
- Friday to Monday
Shifts typically start between 16:00 and 19:00. We offer flexibility in shift patterns, so if these start dates and times don't quite suit your availability, let us know what you're looking for; we'll do our best to accommodate your preferences.
Pay Rates: We have increased our pay rates, with rates now ranging from £15.80 to £18.41 per hour, depending on shift, giving you even more reason to build your driving career with us:
- Mon-Fri Nights - £15.80 per hour
- Saturday and Sunday Day Shift - £18.10 per hour
- Bank Holidays - £18.41 per hour
On top of base salary, our HGV Drivers will be entitled to a £5 per shift tax-free meal allowance.
Driver Responsibilities:
- General Haulage with Curtainside trailers, to Distribution Centres and Stores
- Collections from Stores to load out to Factories and Distribution Centres
- Supporting General work, including occasional store deliveries and requirement to load and unload cages
- Completing all necessary vehicle checks and documentation
- Maintaining high levels of safety, compliance, and professionalism
- Working closely with the transport team to ensure smooth operations
- Adhere to Driver's hours, WTD, and tachograph legislation
Qualifications: You should hold a valid C+E Licence and ideally have a minimum of 6 months HGV Class 1 driving experience (We will consider New Pass Drivers). No more than 6 points and no DD/DR Code convictions.
