Job Description

We are recruiting permanent HGV Class 1 drivers to join us at our customer site Unilever in Leeds, for our General Haulage operation, completing store and RDC deliveries across the region. This role is ideal for a HGV driver who takes pride in safe driving, excellent customer service and dependable delivery standards. The role is full time, working on a permanent basis and will be working on a 4 ON 4 OFF shift pattern working days between 06:00 and 18:00.

Pay Rates:

  • Mon-Fri Days - £15.15 per hour
  • Saturday and Sunday Day Shift - £18.15 per hour
  • Bank Holidays - £18.96 per hour

On top of base salary, our HGV Drivers will be entitled to £5 per shift tax-free meal allowance.

Driver Responsibilities:

  • General Haulage with Curtainside trailers, to Distribution Centres and Stores
  • Supporting General work, including occasional store deliveries and requirement to load and unload cages
  • Completing all necessary vehicle checks and documentation
  • Maintaining high levels of safety, compliance, and professionalism
  • Working closely with the transport team to ensure smooth operations
  • Adhere to Driver's hours, WTD, and tachograph legislation.

Qualifications:

  • You should hold a valid C+E Licence and ideally have a minimum of 6 months HGV Class 1 driving experience (We will consider New Pass Drivers)
  • No more than 6 points and no DD/DR Code convictions.
  • Hold a current valid DCPC & Tacho cards.
  • Understand and able to comply with Drivers hours and WTD legislation.
  • Able to understand and carry out necessary vehicle checks to ensure vehicle safety and able to report defects correctly.
  • Should comply with on-site health and safety requirements.
  • Excellent communication skills.
