HGV Class 1 Driver – Tramping | £16.00–£17.93 per hour | Wolverhampton, West Midlands | Monday–Friday | £25 per night allowance | PAYE | Immediate start

Stoa Recruitment are recruiting HGV Class 1 tramping drivers for a well-established global logistics operation based in Wolverhampton — a family-owned business with over 20 years in the industry. The work is ongoing, the start is immediate, and positions are available now.

The Role

This is a tramping position — you will be out Monday to Friday, typically 4 to 5 nights away from home per week. That's the reality of the role and we’re being straight about it upfront. If that works for your lifestyle, what you get in return is consistent well-paid work, a £25 nightly allowance on top of your hourly rate, and an agency that actually looks after its drivers.

You will be operating out of Wolverhampton on UK runs for an established logistics client. The work is consistent, the expectation is professional, and the right tramping driver will have no shortage of shifts.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • UK tramping runs out of Wolverhampton — Monday to Friday
  • 4 to 5 nights away from home per week — this is a genuine tramping position
  • Operating to schedule and maintaining accurate tachograph records on every run
  • Completing pre and post-trip vehicle checks to a professional standard throughout
  • Representing yourself and Stoa professionally at the client depot at all times

What We’re Looking For

Must have:

  • Valid HGV Class 1 licence
  • Valid Driver CPC card
  • Digital tachograph card
  • Clean or near-clean licence
  • Comfortable with 4 to 5 nights away from home per week — this is non-negotiable for this role
  • Reliable, professional, and punctual — depot reputations matter and so does yours

Nice to have:

  • Previous tramping experience
  • Familiarity with UK national routes

What You Get

  • £16.00–£17.93 per hour — transparent and confirmed before every shift
  • £25 per night allowance — paid on top of your hourly rate for every night away
  • Monday to Friday — no weekends
  • PAYE from day one — no umbrella, no limited company requirement
  • Weekly pay every Friday
  • Ongoing work — immediate start available

Not Your Average Agency

Most agencies place you and move on. Stoa works differently. Every shift you work earns you loyalty points — hit certain thresholds and those points convert directly into cash bonuses, paid straight through your weekly wage. Turn up consistently, cover shifts when needed, refer someone good — it all counts and it all pays. It’s our way of making sure the people who show up and deliver are the ones who actually benefit from being on our books.

Stoa Recruitment are committed to equal opportunities and welcome applications from all backgrounds. Apply now. Send your CV and we’ll come back to you within 24 hours.
