Stoa Recruitment are recruiting skilled Site Fitters on behalf of an established steel fabrication business in Batley, West Yorkshire. Two Site Fitter positions are available on a temp-to-perm basis, with a permanent contract for the right fitter based on performance.

The Role

As a Site Fitter, you will be installing architectural staircases, balustrades, handrails, and glass panels in mild and stainless steel. You will work from site packs, lead semi-skilled fitters on site, and take real ownership of delivering a quality finish on time and to standard every time. This is a role for a Site Fitter who takes pride in their work and wants a permanent position with a business that values skilled tradespeople.

Key Responsibilities

  • Fabricate and fit architectural metalwork stairs, balustrades, handrails, and glass panels
  • Work from site packs including RAMS, drawings, parts lists, and bolt lists
  • Lead and delegate tasks to semi-skilled fitters on site
  • Maintain high standards throughout to deliver a quality finish on every project
  • Keep accurate daily records of work completed, alterations, and downtime
  • Work safely to method statements at all times

What We're Looking For

Must have:

  • Skilled experience in mild and stainless steel fabrication and installation of architectural staircases and balustrades
  • Confident reading fabrication and installation drawings
  • Knowledge of steel construction and architectural metalwork installation
  • Strong health and safety awareness throughout
  • Flexibility to work to deadlines including outside normal hours when required

Nice to have:

  • IPAF, PASMA, CSCS, Telehandler, FLT, Harness Training, or Slinger Banksman tickets

  • £16.50 - £17.00 per hour dependent on experience
