Stoa Recruitment are recruiting on behalf of a family-run engineering business with over 76 years in the medical equipment sector. They are looking for two Field Service Engineers to join a growing team β€” one covering the North East, one covering the North West.

The Role

You'll be out in the field every day, servicing, repairing, and maintaining a broad range of medical equipment across hospitals, nursing homes, and specialist schools. The work is technically varied β€” patient lifting equipment, hoists, LOLER inspections, baths, beds, trolleys, couches, dental and ENT equipment, and wheelchairs. No two days are identical.

You'll operate from home, taking your fully stocked company van door to door β€” no depot runs, no early morning commutes to a yard. Your territory, your organisation, your standard.

This is a role for someone who can manage themselves in the field, problem-solve independently, and always put the end-user first. The business has been established for over 76 years and is expanding β€” these are new positions created by genuine growth.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Servicing, repairing, and maintaining medical equipment across your designated territory
  • Attending breakdowns and carrying out fault-finding to resolution on site
  • Fitting replacement parts and completing repairs to the required standard
  • Communicating clearly with clinical and care staff on site and reporting accurately back to the office
  • Managing your own diary, travel, and stock levels professionally throughout
  • Occasional overtime available on an optional basis when workload requires it

What We Need From You

  • A background in electrical or mechanical engineering β€” essential
  • Experience servicing or maintaining medical equipment β€” strongly preferred
  • Self-motivated with the ability to manage your own workload and territory independently
  • Strong communication skills β€” you'll be working directly with clinical and care staff daily
  • Full UK driving licence β€” essential
  • Willingness to undergo a standard DBS check β€” required due to the environments visited

What You Get

  • Β£30,000–£35,000 per annum dependent on experience
  • Company van provided, fully stocked with commonly used spares β€” taken home daily, no depot commute
  • 30 days holiday inclusive of 8 bank holidays
  • Additional 1 day holiday for every 5 years of service
  • Monday to Friday β€” 08:30 to 17:00
  • Occasional optional overtime available
  • Permanent position with a long-established, expanding business
  • Technically varied work across diverse healthcare settings

Two positions available β€” one covering the North East, one covering the North West. Territory details discussed at interview stage.
