The Technical Services Manager is responsible for all services issues of a technical nature and reports to the Project Manager and Director responsible.
Key Deliverables & Responsibilities
- Look to strengthen existing relationships with MEP/AVIT consultants and arrange/attend social events to strengthen those relationships.
- Actively participate in contacting new MEP/AVIT consultants and arrange meetings to discuss opportunities they may be working on prior to the issue of PQQ/Tender.
- Participate in the Operational Excellence programme and look to innovate where possible.
- Promote Operational Excellence both internally & externally and promote our company values externally.
- Participate in Technical Services Forums to contribute to knowledge sharing.
- Ensure maximum focus and effort is applied towards winning the next project.
- During the proposal stage, assist the Project Manager in preparing contractors' proposals and technical services aspects of the proposal; liaise with the client team to establish relationships, prepare construction methodology, and ensure technical services content & strategy merge with the proposed construction sequence.
- In the preâconstruction phase, carry out handover from the technical services estimator, produce scope of works documents, review procurement strategy, liaise with the commercial manager, assist with procurement processes, lead technical services startâup meeting with the Trade Contractor, prepare the Technical Services strategy document, liaise with the Project Manager to produce the construction programme, and arrange validation & commissioning checks.
- During the construction phase, monitor technical services contractors' performance, hold regular progress meetings, review design progress, solve problems, ensure benchmarking & quality control, attend weekly and monthly meetings, provide technical support to the Construction Manager, conduct site inspections, monitor the production of Operation & Maintenance manuals, develop commissioning programmes, lead the commissioning process, coordinate inspections, monitor document control, and support practical completion and commissioning.
- In the postâcompletion phase, resolve defects reported by the client during the defects period and attend endâofâdefects meetings.
