  • Job Summary

We are looking for a Clinical Nurse Specialist to join our integrated community nursing team on an "As and When Required" contract.

The role involves providing highest quality care and support to patients and their families, advising and monitoring patients in their own homes, and working collaboratively within an interdisciplinary team.

St Michael’s Hospice supports the community of Hastings and Rother to live well with dying, death and loss.

Our services are delivered through inpatient beds, home care, and well‑being support both in‑person and virtually.

Responsibilities

  • Provide compassionate, patient‑centred care to patients and their families.
  • Advise and support patients in their own homes, including prescribing where appropriate.
  • Build natural and trusted rapport with patients, families and colleagues.
  • Collaborate closely with interdisciplinary team members to ensure holistic care.

Qualifications

  • Registered nursing qualification with experience in community or hospital settings.
  • Passion for palliative care and commitment to patient‑centred care.
  • Ability to prescribe medications in accordance with legal requirements.
  • Excellent communication skills, sound judgement and empathy.
  • Experience and comfort working with sensitive topics such as loss, grief and dying.
