Account Executive/Graduate Role in a marketing agency

The collective purpose of the client services team within STM Agency is to develop lasting and meaningful relationships, founded on ‘perpetual thinking’ and innovation, to drive client and agency profit and growth

We are seeking an Account Executive/Graduate who thrives in a fast‑paced, dynamic environment and is looking for a new challenge. The ideal candidate will be organised, possess strong teamworking skills and will be commercially minded.

Your role as Account Executive is to support your teams Account Manager/Senior Account Manager. Being accountable for day‑to‑day aspects of your projects, you will work alongside and assist the create, reach and code teams to ensure that work delivered for clients is head and shoulders above the competition. As part of the Client Services Centre of Excellence, you will also help drive profitability and opportunity for the agency.

Candidates should ideally have a minimum of 6 months’ work experience within an agency environment – having worked on a mixture of both B2B and B2C clients, with a solid understanding of the retail and/or digital and content landscape. Production experience is desirable but is not essential.

We’re looking for an individual who is both versatile and detail‑oriented, capable of reacting swiftly to client needs whilst upholding high standards of accuracy and execution.

We’re looking for someone to demonstrate that they have some experience of the below in their initial interview:

  • Ability to manage a varied workload/prioritise their work/work to deadlines
  • Previous agency experience across retail/performance/content, both B2B & B2C (or a strong interest in working across both)

Day to day your role will include:

  • Client Relationship Management (35%)
  • Building and maintaining relationships with clients, supporting your Account Manager and the agency in delivering the very best work for the client; on time, on brief and on budget
  • Assisting in day‑to‑day client communications and providing team support by attending meetings and helping maintain protected client relationships
  • Project Oversight (25%)
  • Collaborating with internal teams to support project execution via informal catch‑ups and project status & review meetings
  • Helping with the management and creation of agency briefs, project timelines, quotes, timing plans, scheduling and addressing basic issues
  • Strategic Planning (10%):
  • Assisting in the execution of strategic plans as pre‑determined by senior agency figures and clients
  • Gaining insights and learning from strategic discussions by shadowing and attending strategic planning meetings with senior team members and clients
  • Learning about your clients market, their sector specialism and challenges, so the agency can better support their business growth
  • Budget Management (10%):
  • Assisting in the creation of cost estimates/quotes with and for your Account Manager – gathering information to inform accurate quotes when necessary from the create, reach and code teams
  • Problem Solving (10%):
  • Assisting in addressing project‑related challenges from both a client and agency perspective
  • Learning about and finding solutions to maintain project momentum, helping execute any changes and deviations needed to ensure the project is still delivered on brief, on time and on budget
  • Quality Assurance (5%):
  • Participating in project reviews to understand quality standards that need to be adhered to at all times
  • Contributing to ensuring client expectations are met, without over promising or over delivering – knowing when to escape issues to more senior team members
