Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site Head Chef role based at STK London. The Head Chef will lead the kitchen team in delivering consistently high-quality dishes, with a strong focus on premium steaks and modern cuisine that aligns with the brand’s standards. Responsibilities include:
- Menu development
- Overseeing food preparation and plating
- Maintaining food safety and hygiene standards
- Managing inventory, ordering, and cost control
- Training, scheduling, and mentoring kitchen staff
- Collaborating closely with front-of-house leadership to ensure a seamless guest experience
- Adapting operations to accommodate high-volume, fast-paced service
Qualifications
- Extensive experience as a Head Chef in a high-volume, premium or fine-dining environment, ideally with steakhouse or grill expertise
- Strong culinary skills in meat cookery, sauce work, and contemporary plated presentation, with a commitment to consistent quality and flavour
- Proven leadership abilities, including team management, coaching, performance development, and fostering a respectful, inclusive kitchen culture
- Solid knowledge of food safety regulations, HACCP procedures, and best practices for cleanliness, storage, and allergen management
- Experience with menu engineering, costing, stock control, and waste reduction to meet financial targets while maintaining quality
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with management, front-of-house teams, and suppliers
- Ability to perform under pressure in a fast-paced, high-energy environment, with strong organization and time-management skills
- Relevant culinary qualifications or apprenticeship training; additional certifications in food hygiene and safety are highly beneficial
