Multi-Skilled Engineering Technician in West Yorkshire

Full-time Rotating Shift Pattern (Average 41 Hours Per Week)

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Maintenance Technician to join a busy automated distribution operation in West Yorkshire. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring the reliability, performance, and continuous improvement of site equipment and operational systems.

The position involves carrying out planned and reactive maintenance across a range of mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic systems within a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out planned preventative maintenance on automated equipment and machinery
  • Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical faults efficiently
  • Respond quickly to equipment breakdowns to minimise operational downtime
  • Support site improvement and engineering projects
  • Liaise with third-party contractors and service providers when required
  • Assist in maintaining site facilities and operational equipment standards

This role is physically active and will require prolonged periods of standing and walking, alongside occasional lifting, bending, kneeling, and working in confined areas.

Skills & Experience Required

  • Recognised Level 3 qualification in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering
  • Previous experience within an engineering or maintenance environment
  • Experience working with automated handling or conveyor systems
  • Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills across electrical and mechanical systems
  • Ability to work independently and within a team in a fast-moving environment

Desirable

  • IOSH, NEBOSH, or similar health & safety certification
  • Experience supporting or coordinating engineering teams
  • Exposure to continuous improvement or automation projects
