Key responsibilities
- Supervise lift installations, modernisations, refurbishments and major repairs
- Monitor progress against programmes, method statements and schedules
- Carry out regular site visits to inspect works and resolve technical issues
- Coordinate lift shutdowns, testing, commissioning and handovers
- Act as the link between office teams, site engineers, subcontractors and clients
Health, safety and compliance
- Ensure full compliance with Health & Safety legislation, LOLER, PUWER and EN 81 standards
- Review and manage lift-specific RAMS
- Ensure safe systems of work are followed on site
- Support LOLER examinations and liaise with independent inspectors
- Report and close out incidents, near misses and non-conformances
Resource, contractor and client management
- Coordinate labour, materials and equipment
- Manage subcontractors to meet quality and programme requirements
- Liaise with suppliers to ensure timely deliveries
- Act as the main point of contact for clients and stakeholders
- Attend project, site and technical meetings
Commercial and administration
- Support project planning, scheduling and cost control
- Assist with variations, valuations and final accounts
- Maintain accurate project records, reports and completion packs
- Provide regular updates to senior management
Essential skills and experience
- Proven experience in the lift and elevator industry in a supervisory or project role
- Strong technical knowledge of traction, hydraulic and MRL lift systems
- Experience supervising lift installations, modernisations or major repairs
- Solid understanding of lift-specific Health & Safety requirements
- Strong organisation, communication and time-management skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects at once
- Competent with Microsoft Office and project systems
- Full UK driving licence
Desirable
- Background as a qualified lift engineer or improver
- Relevant lift industry qualifications
- SSSTS or SMSTS
- NVQ Level 3 or above in Lift Engineering
- Experience working from an office-based projects environment
