Are you a Senior Maintenance Engineer leading a small team or shift? Looking to join a business with genuine investment plans and long-term job security? Do you enjoy a role where no two days are the same, balancing planned maintenance, improvement projects and the occasional firefighting when things don't quite go to plan? If so, keep reading...

We're a household name with a rich history. While we've been around for decades, we're anything but old-fashioned. We continue to invest heavily in our people, our products and our manufacturing facilities, and our flagship Nottingham site is at the centre of those plans with significant investment over the next 12 months.

This is a hands-on Senior Maintenance Engineer position where you'll spend the majority of your time supporting the team on the tools while also taking responsibility for leading your shift, driving standards and helping develop the engineers around you. The role is predominantly mechanically biased, although you'll need enough electrical fault-finding ability to be comfortable working across modern production equipment. You'll be joining a genuinely stable engineering team led by an outstanding Engineering Manager who believes in developing people rather than simply managing them.

What you'll be doing:

  • Leading and supporting a team of Maintenance Engineers during your shift.
  • Carrying out planned preventative maintenance across a fast-paced manufacturing site.
  • Responding to breakdowns and diagnosing faults quickly to minimise downtime.
  • Supporting continuous improvement and reliability projects.
  • Driving engineering standards, safety and best practice.
  • Coaching and mentoring less experienced engineers.

What we're looking for:

  • Previous experience as a Senior Maintenance Engineer, Shift Engineer, Lead Engineer or Engineering Team Leader.
  • Strong mechanical engineering skills with basic electrical fault-finding ability.
  • Experience working within a manufacturing, FMCG, food, packaging, automotive or similar production environment.
  • Someone who enjoys leading by example rather than managing from the office.
  • Engineering qualifications (Apprenticeship, NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds or equivalent).

What's in it for you?

  • £60,000 salary.
  • Panama shift pattern giving you every other weekend off.
  • Genuine long-term investment in the site.
  • Excellent Engineering Manager and supportive leadership team.
  • Stable business with strong order books.
  • Ongoing training and development.
  • Opportunities to progress as the business continues to grow.

If you're looking for a role where your opinion matters, where investment is happening, and where you can genuinely make an impact rather than simply keeping the machines running, we'd love to hear from you. Apply today or contact Stirling Warrington for a confidential conversation.
