As the Test and Development Engineer, you will act as the primary contact point for all workshop and engine test cell activities across the business and will be responsible for running and maintaining the Dyno and other workshop equipment.
You will support the Engineering Design in identifying and advising on testing solutions to meet test cell cycle requirements, quality targets, and our customer needs.
Responsibilities include:
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of the workshop and test cell, ensuring smooth, efficient, and safe testing activity.
- Execute automated and manual engine test cycles, supporting increasingly complex test requirements alongside Engineering teams.
- Diagnose mechanical and electrical faults, working with the engineering design team to deliver fast, effective resolutions.
- Take full ownership of test pieces, equipment, and hardware, ensuring consistent performance and availability.
- Analyse test data, validate results, and influence design decisions through robust feedback and reporting.
- Where needed, machine and fabricate to alter/improve and create test rigs.
Required Skills & Experience:
- Educated to a good level expected to HNC/HND or qualified by experience.
- Be able to use workshop machinery including millers, turners, etc.
- Previous experience of operating a test cell and production in process test equipment.
- Experience of working on an engine Dyno.
- Excellent teamwork ethics.
- Organised with good communication skills.
- Strong admin skills for the purpose of report writing and recording data.
