Duties and Responsibilities:
- Support production by delivering fast, effective breakdown response
- Carry out preventative maintenance across a wide range of equipment
- Diagnose and repair faults across mechanical, electrical and pneumatic systems
- Work on everything from tray sealers and flow wrappers to checkweighers and metal detectors
- Lead or support root cause analysis and drive long-term solutions
- Ensure all work complies with H&S standards
- Oversee and manage contractors on-site when required
- Collaborate closely with production, technical and quality teams
- Help embed lean manufacturing practices and continuous improvement projects
Experience and Qualifications:
- Formal engineering qualification or completed recognised apprenticeship
- Proven experience in a fast-paced manufacturing or food production environment
- Strong fault-finding skills both mechanical and electrical (PLC knowledge a bonus)
- Experience with CMMS systems and confident using Microsoft Office
- Flexible, solutions-driven mindset ready to adapt and lead when needed
- Knowledge of PUWER, COSHH, LOLER, and other H&S regulations essential
- Hands-on experience with automated packaging or process equipment is highly desirable
