The Operations Assistant position is a fantastic opportunity to join a reputable business in central Coventry. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with experience in industrial, manufacturing, power generation or waste management environments who is looking to develop their career within a technically advanced energy facility.

Responsibilities:

  • Monitor plant performance, complete routine operational checks and accurately record operational data.
  • Operate waste bunker cranes to safely receive, mix and feed waste into combustion units (training provided where required).
  • Carry out pre-use crane inspections and report any defects or operational issues.
  • Assist with routine plant inspections, identifying equipment defects and reporting abnormal operating conditions.
  • Support planned preventative maintenance (PPM) activities and operational improvement initiatives.
  • Conduct routine plant sampling, water analysis and environmental monitoring activities.
  • Ensure full compliance with Health, Safety, Environmental and Company operating procedures at all times.

Experience:

  • Experience working within an industrial, manufacturing, process, power generation or waste management environment.
  • Good understanding of Health, Safety and Environmental procedures and safe systems of work.
  • Experience carrying out inspections, reporting defects and maintaining accurate operational records.
  • Previous experience within an Energy from Waste (EfW), Energy Recovery or power generation facility.
  • Experience operating overhead cranes, waste handling cranes or similar lifting equipment (Desirable).
  • Knowledge of Distributed Control Systems (DCS) or SCADA systems.
  • NVQ Level 2/3 in Process Operations, Engineering or a related discipline (Desirable).
  • IOSH Working Safely, First Aid, Fire Warden or other relevant Health & Safety qualifications (Desirable).
