We are seeking an experienced and driven Sales Manager to join our growing Midlands depot team. This is a key role within the business, acting as the right-hand support to the Commercial Manager while overseeing a small internal sales team and driving performance across key accounts.
About the Role
As a Senior Sales Supervisor, you will play a central role in maintaining relationships with merchants, contractors, and key accounts, while supporting the wider growth of the business. You will support a team of internal sales professionals, ensuring high levels of customer service, strong margin performance, and consistent follow-up on quotations.
Key Responsibilities
- Account management of key merchant and contractor accounts (approx. 70% merchants / 30% contractors)
- Monitor and manage quotation follow-ups to maximise conversion rates and manage process
- Support the team in achieving margin targets and sales performance
- Process orders and handle inbound customer enquiries
- Act as a mentor and coach, providing training and guidance to the two internal sales team members
- Identify gaps in the sales process and implement improvements
- Work closely with the Commercial manager to “steer the ship” and drive team success
About You
- Proven experience working with merchants
- Proven experience in an internal sales/account management
- Strong commercial awareness, particularly around margins and conversions
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
- Industry experience in cladding, roofing, or building materials is advantageous but not essential
