Highly successful, SME manufacturing company require an experienced Purchasing Manager, to oversee the procurement & supply of essential electronic components, based at conveniently situated offices, in Staines upon Thames.

About the role:

  • Reporting to the Head of Supply Chain, the Purchasing Manager will ensure the company receives a consistent supply of high quality, responsibly sourced components, to facilitate a smooth & efficient manufacturing process.
  • Key duties include:
  • Facilitating a long-term & sustainable Purchasing Strategy and ensuring all products sourced in line with strict corporate guidelines.
  • Management of the purchasing function including product procurement and managing delivery schedules.
  • Performing supplier audits and gaining new approvals for new suppliers.
  • Planning for supply chain risk and ensuring approved back up suppliers for essential components.
  • Raising purchase orders and product return administration.
  • Negotiating prices and delivery terms with all suppliers.
  • Ensuring quality control targets are maintained for all components.
  • Sourcing new parts to support engineering and product innovations.
  • Management and development of the Purchasing Assistant.
  • Continuously seek to improve processes and procedures.

About you:

  • You will be graduate calibre with a proven track record as a Purchasing or Procurement Manager and ideally have experience within the electronics sector.
  • In addition, you will be goal focussed with excellent communication skills and the ability to challenge & positively impact results.
  • The successful applicant will present a proactive approach regarding the resolution of supply chain problems and effectively manage any potential risks.
