International SME manufacturing business require experienced manufacturing Buyer to ensure all necessary components are procured to facilitate the on-site production process. To be based at superb offices in Slough, Berkshire.
About the role
Working within a dynamic and proactive team, the Buyer is a critical role to ensure production runs smoothly by managing the timely procurement of essential components and maintaining strong supplier relationships. Key duties include:
- Sourcing and purchasing key components and materials to ensure a timely, cost-effective, and high quality production process
- Ensuring adherence to the company budget whilst meeting company production schedules
- Supplier Management through building and maintaining strong working relations
- Identify and evaluate new suppliers
- Negotiate contracts, pricing, and delivery terms
- Monitor supplier performance and ensure compliance with quality standards
- Manage inventory levels by strategic ordering to maintain adequate stock and prevent shortages or overstocking
- Analyse market & pricing trends and identify opportunities to reduce costs or improve supply chain efficiency
- Work closely with production, quality control, finance, and logistics departments to align procurement activities with operational needs
- Maintain accurate purchasing records, update ERP systems, and ensure adherence to procurement policies and statutory requirements
About you
You will have a proven track record as a Buyer, with a minimum of 2 years experience and ideally have gained experience within a challenging, manufacturing environment. Applicants will be Graduate calibre with strong systems skills including proficiency in ERP and MS Excel. The jobholder will have strong analytical ability, excellent communication skills and the ability to negotiate whilst maintaining strong business relations.
