Stirling Dynamics is seeking a Naval Architect to Support Major Programmes.
Due to a strong orderbook and continued growth, Stirling Dynamics is looking for an experienced Naval Architect to join the team.
The ideal candidate will provide technical leadership and expertise to bids, projects, and programmes to ensure high-quality, on-time, and profitable technical solutions. They must demonstrate a strong understanding of the role of a Naval Architect throughout all stages of the design lifecycle.
Relevant industry experience is required, with good knowledge of methods and processes for analysis and certification.
This role will be primarily based in our Bristol office, with occasional travel to client sites. We support flexible working, allowing staff to work from home part of the week.
Responsibilities
- Lead technical projects to meet time, cost, and quality goals.
- Support and lead technical bid formation, ensuring robustness and customer needs are met.
- Provide SME support to project engineering activities.
- Build and maintain positive customer relationships.
- Identify potential business opportunities.
- Support Business Management/Development with technical expertise for new business.
Skills
- Extensive experience as a Naval Architect across all design lifecycle stages.
- Recognized SME with knowledge of classification society rules, regulations, and standards.
- Proven success in delivering projects and programmes.
- Minimum 10 years post-graduate experience in maritime industry.
- Experience in areas such as hydrostatics, stability, marine structures, propulsion, hydrodynamics, and ship design.
- Experience with whole ship design, including performance assessment, construction, maintenance, and disposal.
- Ability to represent the company at industry events and produce thought leadership content.
