Stirling Dynamics is recruiting Safety Engineers with aerospace experience to join the team. Due to upcoming projects and supporting continued growth, Stirling Dynamics are looking for talented Safety Engineers with a minimum of 5 years of industry experience to join our Systems & Safety team supporting key projects in the civil aerospace and eVTOL markets. This role will be predominantly based in our Bristol offices with occasional travel to our clients’ sites as required. As part of our commitment to flexibility for our staff, new hires will be able to work from home for part of the week should they wish to (subject to approval).
Responsibilities
- Providing safety input to bid, internal/external design review and/or certification related activities
- Guiding the safety programme requirements
- Collation of evidence and deliverables to support product safety argument generation
- Hazard identification & control
- Detailed analyses of complex systems using fault tree methodology
- Production of safety case reports
- System level analyses, integrating multiple sub-system inputs
- Platform loss modelling, integrating multiple system level analyses
- Zonal safety assessments (ZSA)
- Common mode / cause analyses (CMA/CCA)
- Particular risk analyses (PRA)
Qualifications
Candidates will ideally be degree qualified, in a related discipline, and be experienced in aerospace/military/defence related systems safety engineering principles, processes and standards.

Desired Skills
- Specific experience should include subjects such as:
- Aircraft certification (CS-23, -25)
- Landing gear (ATA-32), flight controls (ATA-27), fuel (ATA-28), power (ATA-24)
- Hazard Logs & analysis including: HAZID, HAZOP, FHA
- Analysis techniques such as: FTA, ETA, FMEA, FMES
- Production of safety documentation such as PSSA, SSA, PRA etc.
- ARP4754
- ARP4761
- DO178B/DO254
- International standards e.g. IEC 61508, IEC 62368
- Working within a quality system environment, such as AS9100, ISO9001
- The ability to lead activities within a team inc. work package creation, management & delivery

Benefits
Competitive Package - Grade 4-7 with a salary banding of £38,000 - £59,000. Contractors will be considered, for which the rate would be dependent on experience.
