An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated and enthusiastic Support for Learning Assistant to join the team at Gargunnock Primary School. As a Support for Learning Assistant, you will work as part of the school team to support children and young people in their learning, helping them to access the curriculum and achieve their full potential. You will provide support to individual pupils and small groups, working closely with teaching staff to promote inclusion, engagement and positive learning experiences.

The successful candidate will:

  • Have experience of working with children and young people.
  • Demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Be able to build positive relationships with pupils, staff and parents/carers.
  • Show patience, flexibility and a commitment to supporting learners with a range of needs.

The role may involve supporting pupils with additional support needs, assisting with learning activities, promoting independence and contributing to the wider life of the school. You should have a caring and supportive approach and be committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people. This post is temporary until June 2027 and is subject to the needs of the service.

Additional Salary Information:

  • 30 days annual leave plus 7 public holidays (rising to 35 after 5 years continuous service) pro-rated for part time roles.
  • Flexible working including hybrid office/work from home arrangements where the role allows.
  • Biennial incremental progression until top of your payscale is reached.
