We are looking for an experienced Social Work qualified professional with strong organisational, communication and negotiating skills, able to model excellent leadership and motivate a staff team, to take on the key role of Team Leader in Stirling Council. This role offers an exciting opportunity to manage and lead a busy frontline Fieldwork C&F Social Work Team, working closely with partners and colleagues across the Council as well as in Health, the Police and elsewhere.

The post is advertised on a permanent basis and expectations are the applicant is able to ensure high standards of practice are undertaken in accordance with legislation and guidance, following Council policy and procedure and within agreed budgets. The Team Leader will therefore be expected to deliver sound operational management, leadership and direction to a team of Social Work and Family Support staff in their efforts to address local need and risk and promote community wellbeing and safety.

The nature of the post demands a high level of risk assessment skill, along with the ability to manage a range of service user, staff and service delivery issues while actively promoting the service and Council strategic aims, vision and values. The Team Leader is then also instrumental in driving continuous improvement and innovation within and across the service and shaping the team to meet the future demands locally.

This post offers a great chance for a skilled professional to lead an experienced team of staff to work closely with Service Managers and other service colleagues to maintain a high quality customer service that contributes well to strategic developments and makes a positive impact upon the people and communities of Stirling. Out of hours consultation is occasionally required as is flexibility regarding normal working hours.

This post is considered Regulated Work with Vulnerable Children and/or Protected Adults, under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act. Applicants for this post are required to be registered with Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC). The successful candidate will be required to be a member of the Protecting Vulnerable Groups Scheme (PVG) for Children and Adults.
