The Council is committed to ensuring that the delivery of quality services is at the heart of its communities. The Council is looking for you to join the Chief Officer – Governance, the Legal Manager and the Democratic Service Manager, and the wider Governance services to provide excellent internal audit, fraud and risk services to support Stirling’s ambitions to deliver the best outcomes for its communities.
Working with the Chief Officer – Governance, you will lead and manage the Council’s Internal Audit, Risk Management and Corporate Fraud team. You will be innovative and will instigate and drive transformational change and improvement across the team and more widely across the Council. You will be an integral member of the Governance Service management team and will work with senior colleagues across the Council to lead and drive a positive, risk aware and customer focussed culture.
You will be a highly effective communicator and team player, a strategic thinker, and an experienced senior internal auditor who will have a demonstrable track record of consistent achievement. You will be able to work on your own initiative as well as with teams across the Council. Analytical skills and astute political awareness are needed, together with a commitment to customer-focused public services. Working with colleagues across the organisation and external partners, you will build and develop relationships to deliver solutions and improvements for the benefit of all of our citizens.
