Castleview Primary is an Additional Support Needs primary school within the Raploch Community Campus in Stirling. We have a small school roll of up to 30 pupils. Due to the complex nature of the needs of our pupils, we have a large team of support for learning assistants who assist in the day-to-day care and learning for our pupils. Each class is led and managed on a day-to-day basis by a class teacher.
Our curriculum is structured to maximise the breadth of experience for our learners and to minimise barriers. Working alongside allied health professionals is a significant part of our curriculum planning. You will be required to teach assigned classes together with associated preparation and assessing of children’s work; and assist in developing the school curriculum. You will work in partnership with parents, support staff and other professionals and contribute towards the positive ethos and working life of the school.
The successful candidate will undertake training appropriate to the position and will be well supported by fellow professionals through strong teamwork and collegiate development. You will have a relevant teaching qualification together with GTCs registration. With excellent interpersonal skills, you will have good demonstrable classroom practice with sound knowledge of Curriculum for Excellence, including the Milestones for Complex Additional Support Needs.
Candidates invited for interview will be welcomed for a tour of the school. Please note that although the application process allows the uploading of a CV (resume), this is not a requirement for teaching posts and if submitted will not be taken into account during shortlisting to ensure a consistent approach for assessing all candidates. You should instead fully answer the question section with all relevant experience and skills.
The successful candidate will be required to be a member of the Protecting Vulnerable Groups Scheme (PVG) for Children. If your application is progressed after the interview, you will be asked to complete the form and have your details verified. If you’ve got the right skills for the job we want to hear from you. We encourage applications from the right candidates regardless of age, disability, gender identity, sexual orientation, religion, belief or race.
