Role Overview
An excellent opportunity to join the Roads Service of Stirling Council as a Modern Apprentice Road Worker. You will work within the Service to learn a variety of skills within the role including how to operate items of road construction plant and work as part of a team of experienced roadworkers. The work undertaken will range from small drainage works to major road resurfacing projects and include opportunities to participate in construction of new roads and pavements. You must enjoy working outdoors and be prepared to work in all weather conditions.
Qualifications and Requirements
You will be 16‑19 years old (or an official 2026 summer leaver) and must demonstrate enthusiasm for the role and a commitment to learn. You must be willing to undertake any training relevant to the role, including working towards a Road Building and Maintenance SCQF Level 5 qualification. If you are 20‑29 years old, you may be eligible for enhanced funding if you have a disability or are care experienced.
