Stirling Justice Social Work Service is currently looking to recruit a highly motivated and enthusiastic social worker to join the team to help deliver core Statutory Social Work services. The post holder will work as part of a busy team to help plan, organise and manage offenders, and support the supervision of Court Orders and Licences in the community.

Duties will include:

  • Providing a Social Work service in accordance with relevant legislation
  • Preparing Criminal Justice Social Work Reports for Courts
  • Undertaking ongoing assessments and reviews
  • Responsibility for case management including carrying out direct intervention work
  • Working jointly with other relevant agencies

The successful candidate will also be responsible for providing interventions that promote desistance including delivery of accredited programmes such as Caledonian and Moving Forward 2 Change. Full training and support will be given to ensure that you are able to maintain the department’s commitment to continuous development.

The successful candidate will work 35 hours per week, and we aim to provide flexible working arrangements to meet the needs of the service and promote a positive work/life balance. All applicants must be registered, or in the process of registering with the Scottish Social Services Council and hold a degree in Social Work or equivalent qualification.

Stirling Justice Services require all successful applicants to undertake Non-Police Personnel Vetting (NPPV) at a minimum of level 2 due to the requirement to access the Violent and Sex Offender Register (ViSOR) information system. The successful candidate will be required to be a member of the Protecting Vulnerable Groups Scheme (PVG) for Children and Adults.
