Are you an experienced finance systems professional looking to make a positive impact in local government? Stirling Council are currently seeking a dynamic, experienced systems accountant to join our Corporate Finance team. As the Systems Accountant, you will provide excellent financial systems support to promote Stirling’s ambitions to deliver the best outcomes for our communities.

You will provide a comprehensive accountancy and systems support service to a range of customers across the finance department and the wider council teams. Key responsibilities will include being the finance lead for council finance systems including the main finance system (Oracle Fusion). You will have responsibility for maximising efficiency and effectiveness of financial business processes, ensuring these are accurate, controlled and aligned to the councils’ financial regulations and the code of practice.

This is an opportunity to review and develop current processes and practices to enhance service outcomes through robust financial controls, best practice and analysis. Reporting to the Finance Team Leader, you will be the key point of liaison between finance, IT and business change teams. You will also partner with other services regarding interfaces, upgrades, training, financial reporting, internal controls & compliance. You will contribute to the financial planning and year end accounts processes.

The successful candidate will be a qualified Accountant, with post qualification experience and continued professional development in these key areas. You will also be able to demonstrate experience of delivering professional support services. This will include a combination of finance, systems, analytical and personal skills to optimise and develop systems for current and future business needs. Experience of Oracle Fusion would be advantageous.
