Stirling Council - Social Worker (Children with Disability Team)
Stirling Council is undergoing significant change, aiming to enhance service delivery and community outcomes. We are committed to ensuring the best possible outcomes for children in the Stirling area through our ambitious Stirling Plan.
We are seeking an enthusiastic, qualified Social Worker to join our Children with Disability team. The successful candidate will focus on facilitating transitions for young people with complex disabilities into adulthood, supporting the shift from GIRFEC to GOREF. This full-time role requires a motivated individual with a keen interest in this area of work, committed to making a positive impact on children, young people, and their families.
You will collaborate with a team of Social Work and Family Support staff to identify local needs and risks, promote community wellbeing, and improve the experience for children and young people in our care. A key focus will be on the transition of young people into adulthood, working closely with families, education, adult services, service providers, and external agencies to ensure seamless support.
Applicants should have excellent written and oral communication skills, a working knowledge of GIRFEC and relevant legislation, and proven organizational skills. Flexibility and autonomy in work are expected, with accountability to the Team Leader. We value staff who embrace the principles and values of the Promise in Scotland.
Minimum requirements include a Degree/Diploma in Social Work or equivalent, or be a Social Work student due to qualify and registered with SSSC. A full UK driving license is essential. Previous candidates need not apply.
The successful candidate will be required to be a member of the PVG scheme for children. If shortlisted, you will be invited to complete the necessary verification process.
