A vacancy has arisen for the post of Senior Library Assistant at Library Headquarters. You will assist in all areas of service delivery but will be primarily based within the Young People’s section, delivering services to nurseries and centres and operating as Bookbug Co-ordinator.

We are looking for someone who has experience of delivering activities to children and who can assist with organising a customer focused range of events, including Bookbug, story times, Summer Reading Challenge etc. to young people in the community.

You should have good communication skills and be able to drive our smaller delivery vans when required. Good ICT skills are needed and a flexible approach to the working week, which will include occasional evening and weekend working, is essential.

The successful candidate will be required to undertake Level 1 Disclosure check. If your application is progressed after the interview, you will be asked to complete the form and have your details verified.

Additional Salary Information

  • 30 days annual leave plus 7 public holidays (rising to 35 after 5 years continuous service) pro-rated for part time roles.
