Stirling Council\’s Cemeteries team is looking for an apprentice to learn the dual roles of a cemeteries operative and monumental technician. You must have a genuine ability to work within a very sensitive environment, learning about the delivery of an internment service, general maintenance of cemeteries, and supporting members of the public. As a monumental technician, you will work on activities including the memorial survey and repair programme, learning how to carry out repairs using traditional methods, such as lime mortar. As an apprentice, you will undertake a bespoke training package including a Monumental Technician National Progress Award, Cemetery Operations Professional Development Award, training in Making & Using Traditional Mortars, an Excavator licence, Emergency First Aid, and be willing to undertake any other relevant training. You must enjoy working outdoors and be prepared to work in all weather conditions and be adaptable.

You will be aged 18-24 and demonstrate enthusiasm for this role with a commitment to learn. As this is an apprenticeship, candidates aged 20-29 may be eligible for enhanced funding if you have a disability or are care experienced.
