An exciting opportunity has arisen within Stirling Council for a Cleaning Assistant at Strathblane Primary School, Stirling, with the expectation to cover other locations within a reasonable distance from the school.
The post will involve providing 15 hours per week professional cleaning service on a 39 weeks per year term-time basis between 3.15pm - 6.15pm Monday - Friday, paid at Stirling Council Grade 1.
Applicants should be capable of lifting heavy items, using cleaning machinery including electric buffing machines, scrubber dryers and vacuum cleaners. They should be able to clean surfaces to head height and be prepared to work alone. Personal protective equipment, tools and training will be provided. Applicants will also require a basic working knowledge of IT and be willing to undertake training to utilise Stirling Council online training and human resources IT applications. The successful candidate will be required to be a member of the Protecting Vulnerable Groups Scheme (PVG) for Children and Adults.

ResponsibilitiesThe role involves providing cleaning services at Strathblane Primary School and, as needed, other locations within a reasonable distance. Details include:

- Work to the required standards of cleanliness and hygiene, and lift heavy items as part of daily duties.
- Operate cleaning machinery such as electric buffing machines, scrubber dryers and vacuum cleaners.
- Clean surfaces to head height and work confidently and independently.
- Wear and maintain personal protective equipment; equipment and training will be provided.
- Be willing to undertake training to utilise Stirling Council online training and HR IT applications.
- Ability to perform cleaning duties to required standards and safety guidelines.
- Capable of lifting heavy items and operating cleaning machinery.
- Basic working knowledge of IT and willingness to undertake training for online systems.
- Prepared to work alone and cover other locations within a reasonable distance from the school.
- Must be a member of the Protecting Vulnerable Groups Scheme (PVG) for Children and Adults.
