As a Controls Engineer, you will be directly involved in designing and implementing control solutions for world-class automated material handling systems and execute this by ensuring consistent standards and driving continuous improvement within the design team. You will leverage your expertise in controls engineering to provide software design for PLC's, HMIs, and SCADA systems following this through to the testing and commissioning phases while having an awareness of the cost, timescale, and requirements of the material handling project. Produce PLC software and/or visualization systems. Emulate the control system in a virtual environment and test PLC software. Interpret electrical schematics and design input information. Deliver controls engineering activities related to project design and implementation. Ensure systems designed and supplied are CE Compliant to the Machinery Directive Produce of all associated documentation including, but not limited to, design calculations, design specifications, Method Statements and Risk Assessments, operation and maintenance manuals, and test specifications. Commission controls systems on site and to provide support to system commissioning activities and training for the end user. Maintain good relationships with all internal and external customers, through the provision of a high-quality service.
