Calling exceptional Head Chefs! A City that has always known how to make things: with its hands, with care, with an unmistakable sense of identity. This Autumn, Sticks'n'Sushi is coming to Birmingham - our first restaurant in the Midlands, opening in the Paradise development on Chamberlain Square. We serve high-quality, fresh food based on a unique combination of classic and creative sushi along with sticks from the grill, bringing a blend of Danish design, Japanese dining and generous hospitality.

Attracting both families and trendsetters, amazing service in beautiful restaurants is driven by our amazing team - our Strange Fish. You will have walked a similar path before, but your spirit is ready for a Head Chef role where you can bring your energy and vision, with a spark of dare!

  • £55,000 to £60,000 per annum inclusive of tronc (every penny of the service charge is shared between the team in the restaurant)
  • 48 hours a week with paid overtime

You will have Head Chef experience in a busy kitchen with a strong knowledge of crafting exceptional sushi, with a calm spirit that tunes in and focuses, rising above that buzz. Positive and fun to be around, in the heat (or cool) of the busy kitchen?

Culturally curious and hungry to learn more about our Danish 'n' Japanese roots? Taking responsibility for all aspects of the operation in the kitchen from prep and food quality through to cleanliness, compliance and, of course, cost control. Being part of a family that will help you flourish and become the best you can be. Nurturing, coaching and developing other members of the kitchen team. Fluency in English, the language of our kitchen always upholding the highest standards and ensuring every shift is in the very safest pair of hands.

How we will support your journey with us:

  • We want you to grow with us, so through our Lead 'n' Learn academy, you can keep learning and developing your skills and challenge your responsibilities (and your healthy risk-taking!)
  • Our training is structured to both help you shine and create memories, in your role and beyond.
  • We want all our Strange Fish to be part of building something meaningful and to feel involved in making Sticks'n'Sushi a little bit better every day.

As well as our Sticks'n'Sushi language lessons (so you can speak our slightly odd lingo in no time), you'll enjoy:

  • Delicious team food every shift
  • 50% discount across all our restaurants, everywhere (yes, that includes drinks)
  • Generous referral bonus schemes
  • Employee assistance and wellbeing support through Hospitality Action
  • Financial wellbeing support including early access to your salary with Wagestream
  • Employee discounts across high street retailers and restaurants

If your spark lights ours, we'll invite you for a chat so we can meet you properly - and then if it really feels right, we'll dive straight in together.
