Development Scientist – Stichting Live Life

Location: On-site, BB18 6JZ (Based at Earby, working across sites)

Salary: £30,670 – £44,800 per annum + Excellent Benefits

Hours: 40 hours per week, Monday–Friday (8‑hour days, 30‑minute lunch break)

Contract Type: Full time, Permanent

Benefits: Annual Bonus (£1,200 based on company and personal performance); Holidays 25 days plus statutory holidays; Broughton Day: option for a fixed day off every 2‑3 weeks via salary sacrifice; Pension: Auto‑enrolment; Life Insurance: 2x death in service; Healthcare: Cash plan

Job Summary

This role is pivotal in developing and validating analytical methods to meet client and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and validate analytical methods in line with regulatory and client needs.
  • Perform laboratory work to the highest regulatory standards (GMP, ISO 17025).
  • Ensure accurate and timely documentation in accordance with company procedures.
  • Coordinate with operations to execute sample and testing plans for regulatory projects.
  • Participate in client meetings and support audits as required.
  • Provide technical input and assist with quality investigations (OOS/OOT/CAPA/Deviation).
  • Analyse and interpret scientific data, communicating findings effectively.
  • Stay informed on emerging markets and share knowledge to foster a rapid learning culture.
  • Mentor Associate Development Scientists when required.

Qualifications

  • Degree in analytical chemistry or related subject.
  • Relevant industry experience in analytical method development and validation.
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in a regulated analytical chemistry laboratory.
  • Hands‑on experience with GC, HPLC, MS, and CDS systems.
  • Strong initiative and ability to work collaboratively.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Practical experience of regulatory requirements (ICH guidelines, GMP).
  • Ability to troubleshoot problematic separations.
  • Familiarity with statistical packages and E&L knowledge.
