We are seeking a highly organised and detail driven Planning Engineer. In this role, you will be responsible for scheduling material requirements, creating and controlling production build documentation and expediting customer works order demand through Manufacturing and Test.

Poynton has a strong heritage in the global Defence and Security markets. Our team specialises in the manufacture of a diverse range of high quality products, including Satellite Communication systems, Power Management Control solutions, Surveillance technologies and Counter IED equipment.

The role will involve:

  • MRP Management: Maintain demand schedules for new and existing orders, ensuring data integrity and releasing works orders to hit key project milestones.
  • Production Coordination: Oversee works order data packs and collaborate with manufacturing teams to quickly resolve delivery issues.
  • Strategy & Efficiency: Work with operations to optimize delivery strategies, including batch sizes, cycle times, queue times, and work order workflows.
  • Customer & Internal Relations: Provide updates on project progress, coordinate responses to technical customer queries, and occasionally visit customer sites to support business development.
  • Continuous Improvement: Engage with KPIs to boost delivery performance and develop best-practice tools for MRP management.
