From concept to production: Own the journey as our NPI Engineer! We are seeking a proactive and detail‑oriented NPI & Production Engineer to join our team! In this role, you’ll play a key part in bridging the gap between design and manufacturing, ensuring smooth and efficient launches of new products into production. As the NPI & Production Engineer, you will be responsible for providing an efficient assembly process flow and an effective control plan for new products and newly introduced legacy products, targeting a right first‑time build. You will provide key support to production to help maintain and improve quality, cost and delivery performance by providing online technical support, standard operating procedures, assembly tooling and visual aids. You will support existing and define new methods for processes that meet and deliver customer requirements.
Main Responsibilities
- Full ownership of the technical aspects of the Build Definition Process, ensuring that all critical and specific customer requirements are captured and considered during manufacturing/process steps/routing creation.
- Providing the required tooling (i.e., stencils, fixing, solder jigs) prior to the slot date and ensuring visual aids and other assembly instructions are provided.
- Customer focus looking after all engineering activities to introduce, update and maintain products.
- Conducting PFMEA and other quality methodology to identify the associated risks and establish controls prior to the manufacture of new products.
- Facilitating Process, Quality, and Cycle Time/UPH improvement, involving representatives from other departments to promote teamwork and awareness.
- Promoting quality awareness and setting a good practice example to operators.
- Standardising procedures and documenting them through work instructions.
- Designing fixtures and jigs required during PCB and Box Build Assembly.
- Assembly monitoring to minimise downtime in order to successfully meet OTIF/turnaround.
- Carrying out post‑build reviews to document all key elements that lead to the success and/or lessons learnt during the assembly of the new product and handing over to Production Engineering and Production for future builds.
Qualifications
- Degree or equivalent in a relevant engineering discipline.
- Industry‑relevant certifications are desirable (e.g., IPC).
- Mechanical system design.
- CAD, drafting standards, tolerancing.
- Electro‑mechanical design & systems.
- Electro‑pneumatic design and systems.
- Material sciences, material selection.
- Structural analytical and finite element analysis.
- Comprehensive knowledge of technology of materials used in electromechanical and electropneumatic assemblies.
