Job Description
Mechanical Design Engineer – Aerospace Innovation
An exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and motivated individual to contribute to mechanical development within a forward-thinking aerospace environment. As part of the New Product Introduction (NPI) Engineering team, you'll work on cutting-edge designs for major global manufacturers, leveraging the latest technologies.
This opportunity would be suited to a graduate or a mechanical engineer with 1-2 years' experience.
Key Responsibilities
New Product Development
- Support the development of mechanical components and assemblies in line with defined requirements.
- Translate customer needs and regulatory standards into mechanical design solutions.
- Produce technical documentation in accordance with engineering procedures.
- Develop and test prototypes to assess feasibility.
- Participate in integration and qualification activities to ensure system compatibility.
- Contribute to component selection and design definition using internal development tools.
- Collaborate with design teams to explore new ideas and techniques.
Sustaining Engineering
- Adhere to design and development processes, completing all relevant documentation.
- Follow configuration management protocols and identify areas for improvement.
- Support continuous improvement and product lifecycle activities.
Experience & Skills
Essential
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
- 1-2 years' experience in a new product development environment.
- Proficiency in parametric CAD software for 3D modeling
- Detail-oriented with a methodical approach and adaptable to changing priorities.
- Ideally have knowledge of injection moulding design and familiarity with extrusion, machining, metal fabrication, and additive manufacturing.
